THE RETURN OF DOMINICA’S WORLD CREOLE MUSIC FESTIVAL!

The World Creole Music Festival (WCMF) is finally back in Dominica, after two years of forced absence due to health restrictions. From October 28 to 30, 2022, 3 nights of concert will bring you the best of international Creole music.

The selection of guest artists, at the top for several decades, will be this year again up to the requirements of a music lovers audience. A big surprise has just been announced this morning… Nigerian Afrobeat superstars Burna Boy and Omah Lay have confirmed their presence, adding to an already intense program.

Triple K International, Original WCK, Midnight Groovers, First Serenade or Asa Bantan… the pillars of Dominican music will naturally be present on stage and will have the pleasure of welcoming their friends Jocelyne BEROARD (Kassav’) and Admiral T from the French-speaking Caribbean. A Jamaican delegation has also announced its commitment, including Sizzla, Christopher Martin, Dexta Daps without forgetting Shinseea, the princess of Dancehall. For the other neighboring islands, Kes The Band and Patrice Roberts will represent Trinidad & Tobago, while Haitian Kompa will be honored with the groups K-Dilack and Bedjine, Enposib and Chire Lakay.

Young artists will make their first appearance on a major stage, including young Reo and the “bouyon Queen” Carlyn P, to be discovered!

Along with the musical festivities, a Creole village set up from October 24 to 27 in the botanical gardens of the capital (Roseau) will allow holidaymakers to discover the richness and authenticity of Dominica, while enjoying local food and drinks.

Dominica, the island with 365 rivers, offers a generous, exuberant nature. Located in the middle of the Caribbean Sea, bristling with volcanoes and national parks listed as World Heritage by UNESCO, it is an enchanting place, home to parrots and other 118 species of birds that come to seek refuge.

Make sure of taking advantage of the festival period and discover or rediscover this little paradise on earth, you won’t be disappointed!
