GIDEF ANTILLES-GUIANA: TRAINING AND INSERTION FOR ALL

Gidef

“Man is not the sum of what he has already, but rather the sum of what he does not yet have, of what he could have.”  This quote by Jean Paul Sartre, adopted by the   GIDEF, reflects its position: human development with ongoing support of personal resources and skills.

Sandrine Beneto, directrice GIDEF Antilles-Guyane

Generate, innovate, develop, evaluate, and formulate: those are words that make up the acronym GIDEF, both a research firm and a training center. This family-run business was started in Ile-de-France by psychologist, anthropologist, and training expert Daniel Guitteaud in 1994. The company then opened offices in Martinique, French Guiana, and Guadeloupe. Its main objective is to provide professional insertion into the job market by way of widespread training opportunities. An objective defined and redefined, and continually examined qualitatively and quantitatively: “We start with monitoring needs in terms of human resources. After analyzing the results, we adapt and evolve our training programs, our methods, and our tools,” explains Sandrine Beneto, director for Antilles-Guiana. From a simple team to an entire region, these monitoring programs can be put in place on all levels on the island. Every year, no less than 70 training programs are correlated to the job market. The company has an educational development department that allows it to be reactive and innovative.

We create à la carte training, primarily with the official employment office, but also work directly with businesses,  organizations, or individuals, and provide them with personalized proposals,” adds Sandrine Beneto. There are a lot of options: workshops; refresher courses, long or short training sessions; some with diplomas or professional certification, spanning skills from languages to management by way of secretarial position, human services, information technology, or communication. Whatever it takes to respond to very specific requests by their clients.

To meet its goals, GIDEF has a pluri-disciplinary staff comprising primarily occupational psychiatrists, educational engineers, ergonomists, sociologists…. As well as support and administration staff. A staff motivated by their work and the attention paid to internal wellbeing and behavioral skills. “Our strong internal experience allows us to work with businesses on the necessity to train their managers and employees in the soft skills needed to build solid teams that work together well,”  Sandrine Beneto points out.

Human resources counseling is another dimension that GIDEF adds to the workplace: integration and evolution of talents; HR policy development and strategy; choosing HR tools… and, above all, supporting professional mobility and  outplacement. Finally, GIDEF has a research department working on problems relating to employment, training, and equality in opportunities. The combination of their programs makes GIDEF a true sentinel in the world of employment.
