The Dominican Republic posted online a real-time Covid-19 news site in July. The goal is to respond to the concerns of travelers who are planning to visit.
“Our priorit y is our visitors’ health and safety, which is why we have set up this information platform, allowing travelers to plan their trip with complete peace of mind,” explains Magaly Toribio, marketing advisor at the Dominican Republic Ministry of Tourism. “There has been quite a lot of communication on the pandemic, and this platform is a trusted source of information for travelers. Future visitors will f ind of f icial information from expert sources and will be able to ask questions and get answers immediately .”
This tool seems all the more important as modalities change regularly, such as the obligation to per form tests, instituted on July 30. The site also delivers the latest tourist news and a “chat” to process requests in real time. An online expert responds to visitors from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. (local time). Questions can also be asked via a contact form.
